The Qenbet Writers group is a place to learn
more effective writing and historical role-play writing for the Qenbet novel. Mentoring, story critiques, research
assignments, and group discussion participation are the tools used by the
members to achieve these goals.
There are four different ways to participate in the group and as group leader I ask that everyone participate in the critiques
though the other three are optional.
Critiques: Each time a member posts a story to the novel board you are
to leave a message with feedback at either their home or via private email.
Critiques are NOT to be posted here or discussed
except in very general terms.
Mentoring: A list will be available of group members and those who have
volunteered to mentor writers at various levels and on various subjects.
Contact the member and ask if they will accept your posts for critiquing. Be understanding if your chosen mentor has
real-life obligations or has already accepted several posts. When you post
please be polite and thank your mentor in the end-notes.
Mentors are listed under the various levels of
assistance they can provide authors with their work.
Research Assignments: At times the members
will be asked to write a short post on a topic. These will be short and may be assigned individually or to the whole group. An
example would be to collect some Kemetic
vocabulary words and post them for the group.
General Discussions: A topic can be proposed
for general discussion by the group by any member, please start a new
thread within the main topic so all the responses will be together. An
example would be how authors collaborate on stories or long plots for the
novel.
Group Courtesy Guidelines:
Always spell check your work before submitting a post to either your
mentor or the novel board.
Reference source material including images and
vocabulary words. URLs, title and author of book, title and
date of video or movies are all acceptable. So many times information is posted on the Internet with no reference as to where
the author obtained their information and the reader can neither verify nor
explore further the ideas presented.
Writers must comply with posted Qenbet
guidelines when writing especially used “adult” content.
