What do you want? Author: Basteta-Tiye Date: 08-05-01 07:21 Please read this post before posting here. This is a temporary topic and will be up until 9/7/01. Be polite and constructive with your suggestions so we can go forward in making Qenbet the best novel at PanHistoria. (Archivist's NB: Post referred to here is RE: The King is dead. Long live the King.Author: Basteta-Tiye Date: 08-05-01 07:17 in the topic General Discussion)
Hm. Author: Akhenheru Hatshepsut Date: 08-05-01 07:49 Well, since Siamun-Re had already planned a time jump of a few months (which, if I'm not mistaken, was already underway?) I suggest we do that. That way, there's no waiting and dragging on like there was when Siamun-Re was coming to power. It isn't really necessary for the baby to be born just yet...but I guess that matter is up to Thais. :-)
RE: What do you want? Author: Safia Siamen Date: 08-05-01 11:26 I think we should continue from the 2 months jump that Siamun Re gave us. The baby is nearly due, and Thais is set to be the new Pharoah. I am somewhat confused about the group of scribes and other who were sent to Elephantine to deal with Ioudith's army. So do we still have an army to face in the Upper Nile or not?? This is one storyline that I believe should be resolved, one way or another. May I also suggest that we need a new cast list so that we know which positions (that are now regretfully empty) need filling. Then those who are able to stay in their old positions can do so, and any vacancies can be advertised and filled from within Qenbet. Em Hotep.
RE: Hm. Author: Thais Sobkneferu Date: 08-05-01 11:29 Yes, Akhenheru, we time jumped two months last week. *smiles* That means I'm about 5 months gone. I've lost count of the exact number of weeks with all that has being going on, good thing it isn't RL :-) If we have another time jump to after the coronation it would need to be about three months to allow for the full mourning period, the funeral and preparations for the coronation. You can't rush a heavily pregnant pharaoh, so any travelling of the court to the city chosen for the coronation will be very slow. At this stage we haven't decided where that will be, and that is why Basteta asked if we should just go straight to the birth. By the way Osiris Siamun-Re has already told me that he doesn't mind not having his funeral posted as long as we make some reference to it.
RE: What do you want? Author: Thais Sobkneferu Date: 08-05-01 11:46 Hi Safia, ioudith's post was deleted after Ahktenar, in his capacity as Vizier and board member, had informed her that it was logistically impossible to move such large numbers up the Nile and past five cataracts, even if she had access to such a large number of troops. So we have no army to face at Elephantine. When we time jumped Siamun assumed that any rebellion had been put down and the rebels pardoned. He was probably going to post in more detail about this but then he decided to leave. So we can assume that Kemet is once more unified and at peace.
Who's the New Pharaoh? Author: Juliet Pinguinus Date: 08-06-01 02:57 Wouldn't the knew Pharaoh be Alexandros Charmides, because he is married to the female heir to the throne? I thought that was how it worked for ancient Egyptians. The male married to the female heir to the throne became the Pharaoh.
RE: Who's the New Pharaoh? Author: Basteta-Tiye Date: 08-06-01 07:58 No, Thais was appointed the Heir to the Throne by the Per'aa before they married and so she is now the new Pharoah and he Her consort. Thais was never the throne princess (female member of the family that carried the right to the throne) and so Alex couldn't gain the throne through marriage.
RE: What do you want? Author: Rosenetka Amonet Date: 08-06-01 09:31 Have we buried Siamun-Re yet? This bit of information would help with our RP posts. Were has he been/ will be burried?
RE: What do you want? Author: Thais Sobkneferu Date: 08-06-01 09:55 Rose, we haven't decided if we are going to time jump, we are waiting for some more input from the group as to whether we should. *s* Whatever happens Siamun will be buried at Alexandria, that was his wish. Rest assured that if we do time jump I'll post the details.
RE: the latest happenings Author: Basteta-Tiye Date: 08-09-01 16:53 Cross posted from General Discussion Discussion of the future of Qenbet is in the topic called "What do you want?" on the planning board, please post there. We are asking for concrete ideas, solutions and volunteers to do the work. There has to be some structure for a novel to work and Qenbet's is in line with most of the other Egyptian novels. A good chunk of what is there is not to limit you but to protect you as an author and a person. For example the historical character clause that Nefertiabet mentioned. Qenbet has an established history and certain historical figures have had their time here and gone West. When Qenbet was originally created by Cleopatra at AS the historical requirements were set and it has been followed here at PanHistoria. We had a rash of people there who joined as Caesar, Caesarion, etc, without reading the archives and who just wanted to jump in regardless of what they did to established storylines. The clause is there so that authors must ask permission and present a potential storyline to the board for approval before posting. If you happen to have a great idea for a storyline with a historical person Nefertiabet, then please send it to Thais and I. Cleopatra also established the precedence that the Pera'a be in charge of leading Qenbet and each has enlisted members to help them with that task. PanHistoria requires that each novel have a board of at least two members and that they are responsible for governing the novel. We merely combined the two. One more time: We are NOT making our characters NPCs. The reasons why have been stated in previous posts so let's not bring this up again. Focus on the future and tell us what you want in concrete terms.
RE: What character deaths? Author: Menefertaten Hatshepsut Date: 08-09-01 19:53 Dear Ladies~ You have your knickers in a twist for no reason. *S* If you read my post closely, you will have realized that I did NOT suggest you kill off YOUR characters! *sigh* I merely suggested that I thought that the " Royal Family " should be NPCs...NOT die. I knew that Siamen was going away; I merely suggested that it might be better for the group if the new Royal Family were not characters with people behind them...if you had read the offending posts closely, you would have found that it was also suggested that PHAROAH be the RL editor or head of the group, and they would be a playing character-- but that the rest of the Royal Family could be NPCs. Now....*deep breath * ..that said , I don't give a flying fig in a rolling doughnut how we proceed, except that we have FUN...if the fun goes away, if I start dreading to write in Qenbet because of stupid, behind the scenes power-plays and politics, then I'm outta here. This statement might not make me popular, but I'm being honest. LET'S HAVE FUN, ok? 'Nuff said ! * gets off the soapbox* -- Menefertaten

There is no new Royal family, we are still here. In roleplay the pharaoh died and his named heir became became king. what we are objecting to is not just the "killing off " but the handing over of viable characters to someone else. Why should I as pharaoh make Basteta hand over a viable character so I can NPC it or tell the hand behind Alex, 'sorry but you can't post as him anymore, he's a member of the Royal family and so I have to NPC him'? Hmm...let me try to explain why we see it as "killing off" our characters. If say I wasn't pharaoh what would happen? My character would either be put in prison for decades (much as Neskhons was), exiled from Kemet (which for most Kemetans would be worse than death), killed or forced to marry someone else (this would be a living death for Thais who loves Alexandros). My Royal Consort, Alexandros would also be affected, his character would most probably share the same fate, unless I was forced to remarry and then he would be killed to facilitate such a marriage. Any suggestion, (and there have been suggestions via IM's by people trying to help) that my character is just relieved of being pharaoh and left to go free would stretch the imagination so much that it would leave me unable to roleplay my character effectively and it follows that Alexandros' character would also be left in the same mess. Once again I must state that its not just my character I object this happening to but Basteta's and Alexandros'. Since there are only three non-NPC members of the Royal Family and only two of these are on the board I cannot see why our characters should be sacrificed. If this was a new novel and we were all starting from scratch with new characters it would be different but it's not and we have a Royal Family and board already established. We aren't going anywhere, the two board members will remain and the Royal Family will be roleplayed by the same people. I am sorry if this offends anyone, I apologise but please imagine that if someone had posted that your character be handed over to someone else to NPC, and when you'd objected your views were ignored. How would you feel? We have been trying to get on with things and have asked for suggestions but people keep bringing up the NPC Royal Family issue. ::sigh::
What do I want???? Author: Rosenetka Amonet Date: 08-10-01 09:56 In regards to the two or three month time jump that Siamun had happen, I want to know what happened during Basteta-Tiye's visit to Iunu. So when I post any posts in retrospect, I'll know what it is that I should be retrospecting about. Is Basteta-Tiye still in Per-Bast, or has she left already? I would like this novel start to move forward.
RE: What do I want???? Author: Akhenheru Hatshepsut Date: 08-10-01 15:45 Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that! :-) Thanks for bringing it up, Rose. Yeah, Basteta-Tiye was planning on stopping by Iunu, and we were planning on doing some writing together. So I'd like to know what's going on with that myself. And I also agree with what Menefertaten said. If this group wants to continue and move on, which is what a lot of us seem to want, then we have to concentrate on the idea that this is supposed to be FUN. No more BS-stirring. No more political crap. No more Pharaohs relinquishing the Heru Throne because of all this stupid stuff (Siamun makes 3). Let's just do what we came here to do and WRITE! :-)
RE: What do I want???? Author: Tannis Thutmose Date: 08-11-01 00:38 On a personal level I would like to see Qenbet survive! I know there is a lack of trust when it concerns me in this group but in truth I do want to see the first Egyptian group I played in continue to grow and develop. I tend to agree with Menefertaten ideas for the future; so many changes have resulted in little or no positive affect on Qenbet. Time jumps are not a resolution for the constant problems faced by Qenbet, solid leadership from a Pharaoh is required. All have come to this group to role-play a life in Ancient Egypt and as an Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh's word was law, plain and simple. He/She set the rules that would be followed and all obeyed or paid the price, if your looking for a democratic life style then perhaps this isn't the time period for you. Historical accuracy is not possible when your playing Egypt in a time that never existed, I would suggest lighting up and move towards having fun with writing and allow for mistakes. Posting a living story can be great fun, one never knows exactly what the next person might post and adjusting to the constant change can make you all better at what we're here to do… Write…..Of course a general stage must be set since there is no historical reference point to follow but, that doesn't mean anyone should have to follow an exact line in there writing. You had a wonderful chance when the uprising began, life sprang back into the boards for a few days and I'm still not sure why the idea was killed. 20 posts in one day for the novel board, when was the last time that happened here? I don't know if there will be a place for me in this Qenbet, being the son of Pharaoh Cleopatra was a pure joy for two wonderful years! Please consider any new idea's and keep your fingers crossed that things will get better. Its time for a change folks. Nothing personal, nothing pointed in one direction, just my opinion. *S*
Well Said, Tannis Author: NahehAakhu Hatshepsut Date: 08-11-01 06:14 It was good reading your post Tannis! I agree wholeheartedly with your viewpoint, particularly as to the historical aspect. As you stated, one cannot be totally accurate historically, when the age never existed! That also leaves a little lee-way for for people to concentrate more on their character's emotions etc, rather than having to worry too much about whether one is being totally historically accurate. We tend to forget we are supposed to be writing for the enjoyment of expressing ourselves through the medium of the printed word, not writing a thesis.
Visit to Iunu and Per-Bast Author: Basteta-Tiye Date: 08-11-01 06:41 Sorry Rose, here are the details you asked for. The Queen stopped in both places to visit Nomarchs, Rose and Irys. In each place she gathered together those citizens who were her friends or trusted friends and associates of the nomarchs and told them what was happening in Alexandria, that she and Thais did NOT agree with Siamun-Re and were doing their best to change or work around those decrees that were damaging to Kemet. I told you everything I knew about the rebels and begged you to support Thais and I (and in effect Siamun-Re) or at least be neutral since civil war would be far worse than what was currently happening and if it came we would need to stop it quickly. I visited my estate and former palace in Per-Bast to pack up things I needed and had them shipped to Alexandria. I visited the temple of Bast, prayed, made offerings, had a long talk with Ankhbast about life, the universe, and everything. I went to Maximus's tomb for the first time to approve it, sacrifice, pray, and cry alot. I also recieved a new messenger/avatar cat from Bast. I do plan on writing the last paragraph in flashback and posting it.
What Basteta Wants to See Happen Author: Basteta-Tiye Date: 08-11-01 07:00 More people posting their replies to this post! I do agree we should lighten up on the historical aspect in the sense of not hammering people when a mistake is made. Hopefully more people will start participating in the Writers Group which is a great place to ask research questions since we have some very knowledgable folks here. There are also some great reference books here at PH so go take a look if you haven't already. I would like to see the web pages come back. The temples, cities, and special interest pages that made Qenbet so wonderful. We do plan to include those all in the reorganization with a few, minimal guidelines since PH is different than AS. More discussions! More posts about daily life! More posts by everyone!! There are some great writers out there who hardly ever post and I would love to see you all post more often. I am involved in three other novels here and I ask that those of you who are also bring up things you really love that are being done so we can incorporate them into Qenbet. Here and previously at AS we learned from each other and that is a great way to grow and change. Qenbet is a living thing and living things have cycles of life. Let's begin one of new growth and blossom into somthing wonderful again.
RE: What do you want? Author: KaRa Date: 08-11-01 08:32 Just last night I told someone here that I probably wouldn't post anything here again but I do have something I would like to see happen. Qenbet should let the men or whoever wants to have wars. I agree with Tannis that one day there were 20 posts, an unusual event for Qenbet. When I posted a message I was asked to post about ioudith Ramesses coming in with 50,000 troops I just did it as I was asked to. You wouldn't believe how much back scenes discussion took place about troop censuses and military stuff in MY PER. It is unbelievable to me that anyone would care about some goofy statistic like that but a lot of men did. I really think that there are a lot of men out there who would like to join Iufenamen or Tannis to display their knowlege of how the military was grouped in legions of different sizes and stuff. It is fine for Qenbet to be ruled by women but men and their activities should be encouraged. It rounds things out. My website about the Qenbet palace is still up and is a repository of information about the history of Qenbet. At one time I asked that the link be put on the dust cover page right under per ank and it was explained to me that if I did that then everyone would want to publish his link so I just accepted it but now maybe that would be a good starting place to put links there until the new VK is done. It was just heartbreaking to me to think that the palace I created was just dog food. I was invited to join PI Ramesses which I put off doing for a long time because of my committments here but finally all that was ended and joined. I was so shocked to see how much of PI came over to PH intact. All the web pages and the active people. Have a look. And please start to fix things by putting up a link to the web pages. Everyone doesn't want to just write. Thank you.
RE: What do you want? Author: Allanon Date: 08-11-01 09:00 I have watched this group and been a part of it for many years. What saddened me the most about most recent events were the completely ridiculous accusations being levelled at friends by the powers that be on this board. I saw a friend of mine, who gave absolutely all of their devotion and love to this group repeatedly be accused of power plays and underhanded manipulations. None of those accusations were based on fact - but rather petty, backstairs murmurings. For what reason? As to historical accuracy, I do agree that there can be a slavishness to it. Qenbet, I believe has or has had in the past, a good balance of accuracy and a little more freedom creatively. One perspective that might be kept in mind is that if someone cares enough to do the research and put out historical authenticity in their posts, it is not necessarily slavish devotion to historocity or the desire to prepare a master thesis. It is an attention to detail, that fictionally shows that the author cares enough to try. The only thing worse than snobbish arrogance concerning what one knows that others might not, is a snobbish arrogance while obstinately clinging to willful ignorance. Such arrogance, in either case, serves no one. One other comment, if all of the members (up to and including the board members) could remember that small gestures such as saying "please" and "thank you" to people for their efforts opens a myriad of doors. Manners are free, and pay infinite dividends to those who invest in them. These are just a few of my thoughts, and are respectfully submitted to the remaining members of this group. Of course you are free to disagree with me if you wish. I have no problem with that. However, I think we can alll agree to dispense with flying carpets, alien spacecraft and vampires in Qenbet along withcompletely unrealistic numbers as to troop movements during the proposed time period.
RE: What do you want? Author: Thais Sobkneferu Date: 08-11-01 09:35 Good point, KaRa, about wars. Iufenamun has already posted sending out orders to prepare the troops to attack both Parthian and Roman troops and knowing Iufen anyone else he doesn't like the look of. *g* As for your suggestion that we link to web pages on the dust jacket, sounds good to me. I was the board member that came up with the reason that everyone else with web pages would want to do that. I apologise to you for that but at the time I was hoping that Virtual Kemet would be up and running in a matter of weeks. Still I should have found the time to explain it to you, personally, and for that I am very sorry. Of course RL events and the changes in the board means that VK hasn't been redone and now I find myself with a different set of board duties. Basteta is now working on revamping the dust-jacket so may I suggest that you talk to her about a link and possibly a graphic for your palace pages.
RE: What do you want? Author: Safia Siamen Date: 08-11-01 10:05 I too agree with having links to Nome pages put somewhere where they are easily accessible. Lady Karamy and I (before she sadly departed) spent some time making City & Directory pages for Alexandria, and I have a small Nome banner on my home site. I would love to have Alexandria linked to Qenbet, and also see Nome banners on other homes, not just in Alexandria but elswhere in Qenbet too. For the short time that Alexandria was the Royal city, it was fun living there, andI fully intend to stay in Alexandria.
Thank you, Thais Author: KaRa Date: 08-11-01 10:24 How very gracious of you to explain. *S* Things were changing quite rapidly at the time but now it would be really good if, at least in the interim, urls to web pages be put on the dust jacket as an easily accessable place until other means can be had. Thank you again.
Making a Point. Author: Tannis Thutmose Date: 08-11-01 11:35 You have board members who are doing there best to see to changes, give them the impute they need to restore Qenbet, help in any way you can to see this work is carried out and MOST OF ALL.. Be supportive to each other, offer a helping hand not harsh words...*S* Best of Luck Tannis/UsermaatRa
What I want? Author: Nefertiabet Date: 08-12-01 10:55 I would like to see at least one more board member. That would improve chances that there is always someone online to answer questions and take care of newcomers - which are potential members. I agree with Allanon. The tone of some of the postings here has been less than friendly a couple of times. Especially board members should be mindful of setting a good example to be friendly and adding a 'please' and thank you' can make wonders. Now, do I detect a little bit of improvement the last days? ;-) Please, take care of those who have knowledge and who have submitted it to the group. Let them feel appreciated, give them acknowledgement and they will give you all they can in return. You´ve got a great possibility in making the board flourish that way. Let´s not see people trickle away as has been done. That´s really all I have to say.
RE: What do you want? Author: Tannis Thutmose Date: 08-12-01 13:16 To see something get going before more members leave the group. Its all well and fine to sit back and hash things out but without a story going you're going to lose more members. Pharaoh should be on daily. Board members need to be on daily Important roles should post more then once a week Stories don't have to be planned out to the last detail General idea's of whats going on is all thats needed Get busy instead of sitting back. *S* Just a few idea's... Tannis/User
RE: What do you want? Author: Onions Hatshepsut Date: 08-12-01 14:36 I would like to see links to pertinant web pages such as Ka Ra's on the dustcover. I would like to see active city threads. I would like to know the chronology of missing time. I am certain some characters caught in the middle of their own timely events will need to backfill, and I eagerly await reading this. Anyhow, in the change of time, does this mean we are past fall equinox, and Onions must farm accordingly, or are agriculturalists exempt from the time shift??? (LOL) Onions is very much a side character in recent events. However, everyone may have their story to tell.
Dang it, Tannis! Author: Mirjam Date: 08-12-01 14:46 You´re dead right there and I agree wholeheartedly. ;-)
Urls on the dustjacket Author: Thais Sobkneferu Date: 08-13-01 05:30 Taking your advice KaRa, I've put some links(including one to your palace pages) on the dustjacket but I've left the style the same since Basteta is planning to revamp it. I've also introduced a featured nome and that for the moment is the Third Nome of Lower Egypt, it seemed appropriate since the court is for the time being at Alexandria. *s* Before anyone asks Waset will become the Royal City again. Anyone who has any web pages they would like to be linked to please leave them here. May as well keep it all in one place. *smiles* Many thanks to those who have spent time and energy on their web pages.
RE: Urls on the dustjacket Author: Rosenetka Amonet Date: 08-13-01 08:48 Here is the URL for city pages of Iunu: http://rosenetka.tripod.ca/
RE: Urls on the dustjacket Author: KaRa Date: 08-13-01 09:42 Thank you, Thais. Maybe if Basteta would like to give us some dimensions in pixels to use for the size of our adds, to keep them uniform, we can redesign our link images. At any rate I am pleased to have a link. Thank you again. *S*
RE: Urls on the dustjacket Author: Akhenheru Hatshepsut Date: 08-13-01 10:11 The Iunu Shrine to Aset's URL is http://www15.brinkster.com/akhenheru/Aset, if you want to use it. :-)
RE: Urls on the dustjacket Author: Thais Sobkneferu Date: 08-13-01 12:35 Thanks Akhenheru, I've just put it up. :-) KaRa, I'll pass on the request for pixel dimensions to Basteta, thanks for another good idea. *s*
RE: What do you want? Author: Menefertaten Hatshepsut Date: 08-13-01 22:55 I agree with Allanon, and Tannis. I also agree that men should chime in whenever. I only have a few suggestions... What I would like to see is people thinking about where/what they are doing...if you go somewhere, look up who's there...maybe get something going there. Touch base with them, at least, if they are important. Example: Menefertaten is at Philae. She is the Commander of the garrison there. Do you think she would let so many troops get by her at the southern border without any message to the proper authorities? No way ! Iufenamen would know *right now* Pigeons are wonderful critters ! I try to write logically....people have their positions, and should be recognized as such. Am I just being picky? I mean, I just want to follow a little protocol, maybe ? Kinda? Or am I totally zonked, here ? *chuckle*

Another infamous Iufenamun speech... Author: Iufenamun Amenhotep Date: 08-14-01 22:27 Friends! Countrymen! Not Romans! Oh, fine. You could let me have my one bad pun of the day. Well, there it is, above this. No more of that, I promise. Anyhow, here I am again in Qenbet after many months of absence. To tell you the truth, I didn't think I would ever be back, but here I am. I'm repeating myself, aren't I? Sorry about that. Well, I can't really tell you how exactly I decided to stick my nose back into things. I just came back one day, had a look around, and lo and behold - pandemonium. Can't I even leave for a few months witout everything falling apart? Ok, kidding aside, I was very sad to see my beloved Qenbet be in trouble and in danger of completely falling apart (yet again). Certainly, one of my options was to chastise people for acting like children and dissapear again, high and mighty on my horse. On the other hand, there's the option of sticking around and trying to help rebuild things and put Humpty-Dumpty back together. Needless to say from this obvious exercise in making you read my endless blathering on and on, I decided to stick around a while. It does seem a few people still remember me and are strangely fond of me, so I might actually have a little positive influence left in me. Also, people tell me my writing still seems to be passable, so I guess that helps too. I see that practically all the remaining Dinosaurs from the ancient Qenbet days (of a few years ago) are gone now. I don't really blame them, after all I had burned out and bolted once. After participating becomes more work than fun, and more aggravating than inspiring, it's understandable. In my boundless ego however, I do think there should be one of the Dinosaurs around a little while longer, spreading the influence of the ancient guardians of the Qenbet ways. Or something fortune-cookie sounding like that. Anyhow, it does seem that for better or worse that's me. I know. I'm dissapointed too. I'd prefer someone more deserving, like my good friend Nebmaatre. But there you have it. We're all stuck with me. The whole point of this endless diatrabe is; 1) Hello! I'm back (woo-hoo...) 2) No, Qenbet isn't completely dead, dang it! Let's get it going again. Anyhow, there you have it. I hope the few of you that remember me from the wacky ol' days find my renewed presence encouraging. I know I'm glad to be back, however scattered things are at the moment. Stick around! Things are going to be getting better. You have my word on it. Yer Ol' pal, Iuf
RE: What do you want? Author: Mirjam Date: 08-15-01 02:24 Link for The Sacred Temple Island of Philae: http://www. philae.nu/philae/landing.html We´re a bunch of people living up there so no, Iuf, you are not quite the Only One staggering around. *grin*
She speaks . . . Author: Tetisheri Date: 08-15-01 07:06 *nudged out of her hiding place from which she has been quietly observing the many goings on these past few weeks, whilst eating . . . whatever the equivalent of a Juraissic Two-Toed Sloth eats. She is moved to speak by Iufenamun's magnificent diatribe, and, as a fellow Saurian member (well, mammalian, really, but . . . ), show her support for Qenbet. She'd applaud him, and everyone else who has gone before, but clapping sounds so much better when you have opposible thumbs* Good show, Iufen! As a surviving "elder member" of Qenbet, I've been through this all three times now. And, as usual, I don't say anything because there's nothing new I can add to the discussion; and because more than once the people involved who are my friends have told me not to open myself up to flaming tomato launchers unless I was sufficiently sand-bagged in. I hate confrontation on any level. I will say this, however. I am in complete agreement with Iufen, and everyone else who wants to see Qenbet carry on successfully and grow. Wars, marriages, deaths, births . . . anything we want to achieve, we can. And I keep hearing people talk about quantity of posts . . . personally, I vote for quality over quantity, but that's my opinion. Either way, we can do this, people! *standing tall with a burning torch in hand, looking triumphant. "Send me your huddled masses, yearning to be free . . . "* Let's not forget, either, that our Board Members are fighting to do the best they can to keep Qenbet on it's feet. They've been thrown into the mix just as much as we have. I'd not imagine that's a fun job all of the time. Let's give them some credit, eh? 'Nuff said. *crawling back into the foliage dragging a "Iufen Kicks Butt!" sign behind her*

RE: Urls on the dustjacket Author: Thais Sobkneferu Date: 08-15-01 15:53 Hi Mirjam, I've put up the link and the graphic on the dust jacket. Thanks for the urls and for putting them in one spot :-) The sacred island of Philae is a beautiful place. *smiles*
RE: What do you want? Author: Mirjam Date: 08-15-01 16:00 Thanks a lot! :-) Wow, looks really nice next to all the others! :-)
Loss of a board member Author: Thais Sobkneferu Date: 08-21-01 15:22 Basteta-Tiye has emailed me to say that she has left Pan Historia. So as pharaoh and the only board member left I asked several people, who have all helped Qenbet in the past, to help out. Hopefully we can get this novel going again, they are all good people. *smiles* And I may get some time to actually write. I have been unable to write due to having to carry out most of the admin duties on my own for last couple of weeks. I have also been working on Virtual Kemet and will be letting you have a look at the sometime next week. No promises though. *smiles* Answers to some questions: What about the time-jump? Since no one seems to be posting the board has decided that we should not time-jump. That should allow Iufen to post his attack on the Romans and Parthians. What about Basteta-TIye's character? I have no idea what is going to happen. I've emailed the hand behind Basteta to come back to remove herself from the board and to post. What about the reorganisation of the boards? That will go ahead as planned, but will take a while longer since Basteta-Tiye was in charge of that. X-posted in Announcements!
